So we are still cranking away on this. My dad has basically taken over the project while I work on the blue one. He’s 63 and owns our repair shop that my grandfather started in 1953. When my dad has a few minutes he will work on the car. He also recently discovered YouTube and started making videos of his own repair. They aren’t professionally produced, and overall he is computer/tech illiterate, but they make my family laugh. I spliced a few together over the weekend of the passenger quarter removal and trunk drop repair. I posted the link below if you have 10 minutes to kill (who doesn’t during this time)

Trying to wrap a bow on this thread 13 years later. Body and paint guys will not be happy how we got here, but it’s pretty much painted and done with. Needs a good color sanding still, and some additional paint work on the doors, LF fender, and hood from our first go around painting it. Also got a pair of unused 15x8s (thanks George D) for it. Will be running 275/60/15s and 245/60/15s

Wow, forgot about this one. I looked back, I was following the build back in 2014, then in 2016 I was messing with you saying “about time you get back on the project “ lol, six years later it’s done. Time really flys by.

Thanks Taulb. If it weren’t for my dad’s commitment to the car, it would not be where it is today.

lol that’s the truth! I can’t remember if I ever installed the cargo springs in it either… have to crawl under and look…

thanks! I won’t go back and read old posts.. 28 year old me is embarrassed by what 15 year old me was writing on the internet…

Trunk patches done, still need to splatter paint. New tank installed with a @pglade tank pad. We also wire wheeled the rear section of frame and underside of trunk pan and then painted.

I bought a set of driver rechromed bumpers from @hugger 6-7 years ago that I forgot I had. Got the rear assembled and almost installed. Need to align and tighten. I also buffed out the rockers and some misc. trim for reinstall. We are moving right along for 6/19 deadline. The big things left are interior install and front sheet metal alignment.

Thought we were getting baby shifts out of the trans but no.. overheated on the first hill. I think we are missing 3rd gear, because I can manually shift it from first to second. Throwing in the 400 that came with the Facebook marketplace 455 tomorrow and then interior. A bunch of small things need to be done, but most likely will run out of time. To complicate things, I have to travel for work Thursday and have a wedding Saturday night. Father’s Day car show deadline looms…

New used trans is in and shifts! It’s from a ‘73 Grand Prix that came with a 400 4 barrel according to the tag. The old trans had a lot of material in the fluid. New/used one was clean when we dropped the pan. Right now, it looks pretty promising for Sunday. We also picked up two future projects for our YouTube channel today.
