I am very much so looking forward to it too. It if fricking noisy and HOTTTT in this car with no interior coverings. There is a hole in the firewall where all my new cables are coming through that I just realized is like a fire tunnel. I need to get that hole plugged quickly! When the car is at 200 degree coolant levels it roasts my leg with shorts on. The floor metal also gets super hot after driving a while.

Last night I tackled an annoying project that was bugging me. I moved the obd2 port to the glove box. Now the cable for the tuning software is not "just long enough".

Today I decided to DA sand the pass front floorboard. I think this will be my go-to procedure from now on.
    1. Contour SCT tool
    2. DA
    3. Sandblast the crevices
Now I have shiny metal that I believe will not need to be replaced. That makes me happy.
It was good to not have to sweat my nads off since it was only 80 degrees.

Anyways, I will keep at it until it is good enough for primer.

That looks like it's coming along. I feel your pain as I am working on the floor of my car as well, although I am just using a wire wheel and don't have your welding skills...

Probably just going to end up getting as much as I can and then coating it with Chassis saver... We shall see. It's good when the rust doesn't turn into holes.

Keep it up! I envy the sandblaster as well...

I am soooo tempted to just use chassis saver, it is so easy to apply and you do not need to remove all the rust....but....I know that epoxy is the better solution.

Also, my sandblaster is definitely not a perfect tool. I have too much moisture in my lines so I have to stop frequently to unclog the blaster. Also, the vac blaster does a good job but you cannot make all the sand get sucked up. It still makes a mess but it is just much less mess and you just vaccum it up once you are done.

I just have to get it done. It is grueling work but I just have to get it done.

The more I blast, the more metal I shape. Holes suck!

Thank you to the nice officer lady that was totally understanding of my...."tire screeching" and gave me a warning although I deserved much more for the smoke show that I left. I really appreciate the warning!

I am currently in a battle with the atmosphere. Every time I blast or sand exposing bare metal, I come back a couple hours later to find flash rust. I cannot primer over it so I end up having to remove it again. I will have to switch up my strategy. I am going to have to spray my epoxy in sections. There is just too much humidity right now. I really wanted to blast the whole floor and spray the whole floor but that just is not going to work.

The other delay is back pain. I woke up the day after fathers day with sharp back pain and have been miserable ever since.

Maybe one of the phosphoric acid wipe downs? Eastwood makes one.

    Keeps the flash rust down.

Sorry to hear of your back pain. That really blows, I have been there.

Thanks. Back pain makes other senses more acute. It is humid out and back pain makes it feel like my 2002 deployment (150 heat index). Im a little tired and back pain makes me feel like I have not slept in days.

Back pain sucks ass that is for sure

Put a dehumidifier in the car?

We are having low humidity so I blasted and sanded the pass side again in prep for epoxy in the morning. Hope all goes well.

I got the back zapper on full blast and got 3/4 of the floor primed. Finally!

First round of blasting followed by wire brushing on most of the remaining floor is complete. I will resume with another blast, wire brush then clean up before welding up a few holes and then prep and epoxy.
