No problem. A 2004r and a Buick 350 is definitely the way to go, particularly for mpg's. That was my original plan for my car years ago and the stars just aligned just right for when I went to buy a Buick 350 I found a complete Buick 455 for $250. Couldn't pass it up =P

Wow that's awesome, wish I could even find a 350 for that much, well, let alone find one period, I found one for 200 but it has a blown berring.

I got lucky with the 455, it was at a junkyard (1/2 price day, I was going for a 350) and it was just sitting there on the ground already, the junkyard laid out a row of engines they pulled. I had no idea what this thing would look like inside, I wasn't even smart enough to pull the valve covers for a peek, but I got lucky and it was clean inside. Turned the crank .010", one cylinder had a deep groove so they all got a .040" bore to clean that up and 60,000 miles later it's still humming away.

I was just curious, can i do a open filter like this one?

if i get the breather for my valve cover?

but i do have the vacuum lines going to my filter, is it just not possible?

I run that filter and housing on my car. You'll need the adapter to go down to a 2bbl, it may come with it. The vacuum line to the air cleaner is for better drivabilty while cold, but is a bit of over kill, so you could just plug the vacuum port on the intake or where ever the hose comes from, and yes get a breather and it'll work.

alright, i've never had my car not start in 20-30 degree weather so i think i will be okay, if it starts acting up i can always put the stock back on for winter.
just wasnt sure with tubes running to it.

It's not so much for starting, but after it starts it provides hot air off the exhaust manifold to help vaporize the fuel in the intake before the coolant is up to temperature.

oh, okay. but like you said its over kill, so i can always see if it works, if it doesnt it doesnt.

Hey guys, my computer died a while back so I haven't been posting. Over the winter I haven't really done much. But the snow killed the chrome in my wheels, So I sanded them down and just blacked them out, it actually looks really good with the brown of the car. I also replaced my headliner and sowed some new sun visors for it. Still getting everything straighter out to buy a 350 and a 2004r trans. It's going to happen hopefully before next winter!

believe there also was an enlarged Buick V-6 of 4.1 L (252 ci) that was installed in a few early to mid eighties GM cars.
those may have an iron Quadrajet 4bbl intake pattern. Just an idea for a low buck upgrade.

after about 4 emails of asking a few questions like the condition of the intake and replies of very few works he said that he got a better offer and sold it.
so, no new intake for me yet. still browsing the web looking for parts, still no luck. so just the same old Buick will be at the Portland show this year.

Dealing with college I can't afford to keep up with the demand of my car so I've decided its time to let her go to a new home. If any of you are interested in it let me know, asking 1500. Thanks guys!

Today I got a letter in the mail from a local towing company that the Buick had been impounded, that's odd seeing that i sold it 8 months ago. Well, the person who bought it didn't change the title over into their name, but i had released the title from myself.. So after a few phone calls, the car had been abandoned since February and recently got towed. So after 450.00 I officially have my Buick back and now that it isn't my daily driver i decided by this time next year she will have a big block Buick heartbeat in her! This also all happened the day after my 21st birthday, so Happy Birthday to me!!

Hope you sold it for more than $450 and it's no worse for wear. That'd truely be a win win scenerio!
