I just wanted to to reflect a little.

My mom passed away this week after a few year battle with Alzheimers. She lived until almost 87 and until a few years ago had a good life. No regrets for her and Im good knowing shes at peace now .

The day after my mom I lost a Aunt. Also at peace with her passing.

One of my friends kinda put it in perspective that as we age we all move one step up. What he ment by that is first I was the child, then the parent and now I have two wonderful granddaughters.

How much time any of us have is a roll of the dice but, In our lives where we all worry about the petty things(me included) or have pissing matches over simple stuff. Just never forget to remember your family or friends or partners in life and let them know what they mean to you.

Good cheers, good wishes to all my Buick brothers and friends who have got to known on here Im glad often for knowing all of you and appreciate all you bring to our Buick world.

    Roy,
I am sorry to hear about your loss and understand what you must have gone through with your Mom's Alzheimers, I am going through that now with my Mom. It gets really tough sometimes being "the parent".
    Take care.

    Thanks Dan,Jerry and Duane.
Sometimes it takes loss to put whats important in perspective.

    Duane,
You are going thru what I feel is one of the toughest thing in life, being a parent to a parent. I feel for anyone that has this burden.Over the last few year I have had to make and push my siblings to make some very tough choices, Ive been accused of things , Ive been yelled at , Ive made mistakes, Ive had hateful feelings, but in my heart I and my siblings always had the best interest for my mom.
It tough when someone u love isnt the same person. The best thing we did was get my mom in a memory care facility where she eventually but not easily at first settled in and eliminated a lot of stressful things in her daily life.We were lucky as we had the means to do this as a family. Its a horrible disease my heart goes out to any affected by it. I guess thats why Im at peace with moms passing cause now shes free of this prison that held her mind.
Duane I wish the best for you and if you ever need someone to vent to feel free I get it

Sorry to hear about your Mom and Aunt, Roy. I know what you mean about being at peace with someone's passing. I didn't think I'd ever feel that way, but once you see a loved one truly suffering, it makes their passing a blessing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Hopefully all your siblings are dealing as well as you are.

Sorry for your Mom and Aunts passing Roy. May they Rest In Peace.
My Mom is 88 and struggling with her memory. She still recognizes us kids, but I notice she has quit calling us by name. I'm her 'That's my baby' as I'm the youngest. Hard....

Roy, growing up and into adulthood we are not schooled on what it is like to lose a parent and until it happens most folks don't think about the actual event. In our families case losing both my parents and the wife's became another chapter in the continuing lessons learned about life. All the best to you and yours and reflect on the good times with your Mom.

Sorry for your loss. I will be going through it shortly as my mom is fading. Hospice has taken over now with comfort measures only. She'll be 94 in less than 3 weeks if she makes it. I'm pretty sure, like you, that I'll be at peace with it when the time comes but watching her go through it is painful because she doesn't have Alzheimers, her mind is still with her and I can't help but wonder what is going through it. She has had congestive heart failure for years, as well as some other health issues, and her heart just can't keep up anymore.
