So my son just bought a 67 skylark coupe, really solid rust free totally unmolested car, but we have a couple mysteries. 1st one is the paint code on the body tag, NC I have never seen that one before. Also the car came with factory rear fender skirts! Not sure I have ever seen those on a 67 skylark coupe, but that means nothing because I have always owned 70 to 72 Gran Sports. So any help with these questions will be awesome! Thanks Kirk.

N looks like Maroon, and C looks like White. Maybe white painted roof over burgundy? And skirts were part of the Skylark’s standard trim in ‘67.

I saw the two colors just didnt know they did a two tone. Just goes to show my lack of knowledge! Thank goodness for you guys and gals. So I was only aware of the second letter or number was for vinyl to top or convertible. The car has been repainted a blue not sure what code blue but it is very similar to the blue you see on a lot of 67 gs 400. If in fact it did come two tone white top and maroon body I think It should go back to as born! if you ask me. sure would like to see a pic of that combo. If anyone has anything to add please jump in! Thanks Kirk

I think white vinyl would have been ‘1’; if it were painted white it would have been C.

Here are some pics he is pretty jacked up. Really the only downer is it does not have the original motor. It now has an oldsmobile rocket 350 just picked it up today have not put it on the lift to see what transmission it has. Dont know if the st 300 would bolt up to the olds 350. All comments welcome!

Buick, Olds and Pontiac (and Caddy) bolt up. Chevy doesn’t.

I read your first comment of NC 1 instead of NC I (have never seen) So no vinyl top, it would have looked like my 67 above

Just NC on the body tag so that has to be right just like your 67 which looks absolutely gorgeous!! It has to go back to that for sure!!!

SD sort of in-between a plain Special and a Skylark. More trim, better upholstery, the deluxe steering wheel. Wheelcovers.

The SP also had the option of have having the Skylark interior as did the Special have the option to upgrade to the SP interior. Wheel covers were not standard on SP, they were still and option. One of the best features of the SP is the body length stainless molding, really jumps. SD 2 door was a 2 door hardtop and Special was not
