Hi. I’m slowly getting back into the Buick V8 thing after a long hiatus. This forum seems great. Helpful, knowledgeable people.

So I am starting a sbb 350 build and was wondering if anyone knows a good machine shop in upstate New York - Hudson Valley/Capital District?

    Thank you.

    Thanks!

You’re going to think I am nuts but no car yet. I have two salvageable 350s in my garage. My father’s a retired heavy equipment mechanic by trade and lifelong Buick lover (as was my grandfather) and I want a father/son project before he gets too old. We built a 71 Skylark 350 (my teenage car) and I love SBBs. I’m saving for hopefully another 68-72 Skylark.

If I only had the cars I sold off while in college (69GS 400, 69 Skylark, 71 Skylark, 80 Regal)!

    Welcome from the Albany area.

For a machine shop you can trust, contact Gary Askins at the Napa in Saratoga Springs, NY. Gary has been doing the machine work on all of my Buick engines since the late 1990's, including a couple of 350s. I have always assembled them myself but he can do the whole thing if you prefer. He is one of those guys that hates having someone's engine sitting in his shop for months so if he has everything he needs, he will get it done in weeks, not months. He recently finished the machining on my TA aluminum block that will be going together this winter. Feel free to PM me with any questions. And tell Gary I sent you.
