I have a full set of NOS wheel well moldings still in original packaging for 70-72 GS/GSX/skylark.

I am looking to trade for an earlier date 1972 stage-1 carb 7042242 MC.
    Jan-July 71 would work.

    I also have a 72 / 7042242 MC / 3071 / Nov - 03 - 71. that could be worked into the trade.

Let me know what you have.

Could you just sell these wheel well moldings, and then use that money to buy the carb you are searching for? A person who has the carb you desire may not need wheel well moldings. Just a thought.

Since I was pointed out to be correct with forum rules, this should comply. Asking $1600.00
    Thanks

W/o having read the rules in a long time, is a price req'd if the ad is strictly looking to trade?

This Forum is the Parts for Sale Forum, not the Parts for Trade Forum. Maybe we need a separate Trade Forum, not sure there is enough demand for that. The header asks prospective sellers to read the Policy before posting. I have copied and pasted it,

In the past, an "honor system" has been used in the parts and cars for sale forums. This policy has existed since the board's inception but recently it has been pointed out that violations of this policy have occured, so this post is intended to clarify the policy, and remove all questions concerning it. As of the effective date above, this policy will be strictly enforced.

Our policy dictates that if you list a part or car for sale, you will in good faith adhere to the following:
    1. Post a price for the item being offered.
    2. Post a location of the item.
    3. Work with the interested parties to complete the sale, in the order that they showed interest in your item. This interest must be shown with a public reply to your thread, Personal Messages (PM's) or emails are not acceptable communication requirements for "getting in line" to purchase an item. We suggest 48 hours as an acceptable time period to allow interested parties to contact you privately.
    4. If the first user who responds to your ad does not complete the sale, you move onto the second person who responded, and so on and so forth down the list, until the item is sold. This list is dictated soley by the public replies to your ad.
    5. You will not accept other offers or negotiate outside of these guidelines.
    6. You will not refuse to sell the item to anyone, for any reason, unless a moderator or the board administrator is involved and Ok's the denial.

A "zero tolerance" policy is in place for users who fail to adhere to the guidelines, and approriate action will be taken. Investigation of such situations will be handled by me, the board owner and administrator. Click my username in the upper LH corner of this post to send me a PM regarding any such situation.

The V8 Buick.com classifieds are intended for the use of our established members, and are free to these individuals. Car dealers and parts resellers may be subject to an advertising fee. Contact me for further details.

Thank you for your attention, and good luck on your sale.

    Jim Weise,

    And then the update,

    Effective immediately.

Due to the high number of complaints I have recieved from users posting for sale ads, only to have the post overtaken by a flame war about prices, vehicle conditions, values, the rise and fall of the Roman Empire ect.. commentary will no longer be allowed in someone's ad. If you want to comment on something, make your own new post about it, in the Bench, or other appropriate forum. Reasonable requests for more pictures, info, or other sale related communication is still allowed.

The moderators have been instructed to immediately delete any post that even hints of anything other than straightforward buying/selling discussion.

Offenders of this new policy risk disciplinary action.

Let's just buy and sell some parts folks, and keep the commetary to ourselves, or in other appropriate forums. It's, at the very least, rude to break up someone's for sale ad with your personal views on prevailing pricing trends, or other non-sale related information.

All ads MUST have price and location along with your name to be posted with the ad. All ads not complying with this will be deleted if not edited within a reasonable time frame.

    Thanks

    JW

Seems "for trade only" should be exempt but Nelson's work around falls within the letter of the law (this post may not:)).

Maybe Trades should go in "The Bench". I'll PM JW and ask for clarification.

Seems "for sale" is a fine place as long as it's specified "for trade only"

I think that might lead to problems, or misunderstandings. Lets see what JW says.

    72STAGE1 STAGE 1 & 2

Simple solution, put a cash value and also say open to trades.

And that is exactly what I asked him to do (by PM), and he complied in post#10.

I think Brent's solution here is the best, and simplest..

Cash or trade, with a realistic cash value listed, as well as specifically what the seller/trader is after.
