What would be the value of a nos 1973 q-jet 7042340 ? Would probably need a rebuild with new ethanol friendly gaskets ?
    Thanks

I'd think $300-350 but that's a guess unless it was someone w/a '73 GS and it's '73 date coded buying it. Haven't seen any for sale for a while.

Sounds about right, and yes it would need someone to run through it (not so much a rebuild but update) Nice carb though, and a great starting point for a high performance build.

So 7043240 is a 1973 455 carburetor. I'm guessing you just switched 2 and 3 as there is no 7042340. The box says 17054676 which is a later carburetor.

It's still could be an early style divorced choke 455 carb. The 17054xxx carburetor part numbers were Service Replacement, even though 1705 would indicate 1976 or newer production if you are following the numbers.

For example, a 17054910 is Service Replacement for Pontiac 455 Super Duty engines.

Good find. I would replace the float, gaskets, N/S assembly and for sure the accl pump to make sure it does well in this new fuel........Cliff
