Just got logged in on my phone and can upload pics. I live in Bountiful, UT and have lived near Salt Lake for the last 26ish years. Pretty psyched to buy a pretty rust free car (couple minor spots in the pass door near the A-pillar and something must have gotten stuck in lower pass fender (leaves or similar?) for a few years as it's got a quarter sized hole (that'll expand to at least a half dollar by the time I start grinding?). Tucked into the Stuper Duty spot in the garage for temporary. Pretty cool previous owner fabbed air cleaner/cowl induction dealio Ease of loading. Small towns are cool Gassing (V10, it likes gas) up the Stuper Duty to haul it home and couldn't resist a pic
How accurate is “desktop dyno”? I found this printout in the car. With how this thing runs and sounds, I have NO reason to not believe some of the info on the car. I assume the cam specs are likely right on? Engine info. Likely not real different than anyone else's 455? Cam specs? I was told by previous owner this is set "straight up". He couldn't remember if he ran it advanced or retarded originally but changed it back to "straight up" after a time. Calculated power levels. Again, this is "Desktop Dyno", not sure how accurate but the numbers are AWESOME if nothing else Amazing torque/hp ratio.... not much to say there Unless these numbers are verified on a flow bench, I think that puts all the other numbers in question?
Glad to have finally found something and looking fwd to making this beast mine. Thanks to all that have entertained my "wanted" posts and "for sale" responses. Found this beast a couple hours from my house.
First drive video for those that are REALLY interested. I am and apparently my 17 year old daughter was as well. This thing wants to run. BIG Holley carb. Kind of wanting to convert to a Holley Sniper system or similar as it's been sitting a while. EFI is awesome in my experience. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Nice! I think that cowl ram air was a rare "option"? for 1968 GS. Could be a A body GM thing with a closed air cleaner?
