Most guys with slicks usually run 12 -15 lbs.

I run 13 myself. Very wishy washy at the end of the track when making the hard left to exit strip!!

This is a FAST car so hes not running slicks but old style belted goodyears . That side wall sure is wrinkly . I would estimate 14 to 16 #

I really don't recall any Polyglas tires twisting like that at low pressure. Usually it would "cup them out"and only the outer edges are biting (or trying to). That would kinda defeat the purpose wouldn't it? Interesting.

Looks like much better track prep at LV that day than the last 2 Pinks episodes they had filmed there!!

Reminds me of the old Polmolive (sp) with Marge the manicurist... "Your soaking in it!!!!":Dou:

Low air seems to work for some guys.Ralph and Lane both wrinkle the hell out of the tires.I tried it and it doesn't work for me so I don't know.Everybody's car is different I guess

Looks like he's running a drag radial. Maybe the letters are fake or a custom set was done by some place like Diamondback. They vulcanize whitewalls and red lines onto radials.

Heck they don't even look like the same width or cross section as the front. Can't say for sure from the pic.:Do No:

You are kidding right Brian? You couldn't really think at musclepalooza nobody noticed a bogus tire on one of the fastest cars?

No I'm not and Yes I do.

Folks could notice, but not say anything.:Do No:

I recall someone else doing a similar thing a few years ago, pretty crafty.

I don't know. Maybe Lebannon Valley has some of the best track prep available.:Do No: I seem to remember Fast Lane Carey rotating his tires on the rim and I believe it may have been at LV. Maybe we can test the theory of Fat Tires and out tires running on the same track at St. Louis.:kodak:

I wasn't aware that the same tires respond so differently out here in Michigan than they do out East there. Been driving on Polyglas on my car for 40 years next month including 3 years out your way. Can't say I recall my tires acting so differently to low pressure out there than they do here. Learn something every day. :beer

YOU have got to be kidding me !! I have run Polyglas Tires for over 23 years .... and there is NO .... and I mean NO way that a Polyglas ANYTHING wrinkiles like that !!!! Ralph must have some super-secret formula that allows him to run 17 PSI of pressure on a Polyglas and not have the outsite 1" of the tire leaving the tread pattern. I say that it is BS ... Call me a nay-sayer .... but here's my offer.....

I will PERSONALLY offer (4) Polylas tires at F60-15 to Ralphy if he can make them squat like this picture shows and not spin the BJesus out of them ..... like he says .... they're all the same ... right ???

That Run was 12 pounds Cold. I have gone as low as 8 and as high as 20. The car depending on the track prep and weather does well between those numbers.
