    Hey all,

I decided to finally tackle my oil leak. Took off the oil pan, and discovered a hole right beside one of the bolts that someone had smeared some rtv over and called it good.

does anyone have an oil pan they could spare?

    many thanks,

    -Ryan

    Hey Bill,

thanks for the note. I will try to get a pic today. The pan is back in the car.

Also noticed that there was no windage tray. Did Buick use them in ‘72?

Hard to get a good photo with on the engine and in the car. I’d take it back down, but can’t till this evening.

But found a photo on this site of the same pan.

Thanks for pulling that out! Looks great! Infinitely better than mine.

    What’s the price?

    Ryan ,
I think $50 is fair but shipping may be $25 or $30. ????

Can't it be brazed up or welded?

It probably could. I’ll post it in the pay it forward parts when this is done, in case anyone wants to try.

The problem I see is the location. It’s right next to a bolt hole where the right angle forms between the mating surface and the pan.

The pan is also dented up quite a bit, so Happy to replace it. Luckily Bill came to the rescue with a pan.

I peaked under the pan the other day, and briefly looked to see if there were provisions for a windage tray, and didn’t see any.

I feel like I read buick did away with the windage tray in 73 for a few years - is this accurate?

I’ll have a look tomorrow and make sure, that my eyes weren’t deceiving me - but when I glanced, I didn’t see anywhere to put the tray. If I’m wrong, I’ll take you up on your offer. Thanks Bruno

  18. You're right but I'm unsure of the years. Mine doesn't have a place for the tray bolts. I was told that my engine was a '76.
