I will have to fix it but till then does it hurt anything do drive it with a leak? Cylinder 8 is where the leak is.

    Thanks.

Yes the leak can damage the cylinder head and manifold. Don’t drive it till it’s fixed. The exhaust leak is like a torch, it can melt the metal where it’s leaking.

I suggest “Remflex” gaskets. They will never leak even if your exhaust manifold is warped.

Yes, i remember you advised them. I am going to use gaskets for sure. I have had good luck with Fel-pro in the past on another 430ci. I only drive about a 1000 miles a year. The Remflex will never leak as you mentioned but they are obvious right. I will see as we start the project, see if the Remflex can be cut in a way they are not too obvious.

They are made of graphite, so if you mess with them expect them to be history.

Thanks, yes it is a pity they do not offer them as a 3 piece for the stock manifold.

I think you can pull it off if you want to modify them? I would probably use a dremel tool to cut them.

They aren't cheap, so this could get annoying fast...

They are appreciable thicker, so keep that in mind for the drivers side Manifold stove to heat shield and the dipstick tube. I remember this complicated things for me.

Did you try just re-tightening? LOL

Yes that would be an option. I don't want to waste 'em.

That doesn't look very sharp?? How did it work out?

they cut easily after you bolt them down. Razor to trim, no issues.

Okay. Trim the gasket before hand on the manifold doesn't work? Making a 3 piece?

Remflex sells their material in sheets for Do-It-Yourself stuff. Their recommendations for trimming:

I scribed the outline when I had manifold off. And trimmed easily before installing. Worked very nicely.

LOL, yes i did. But it's factory original still, no gasket. I was lucky enough to re-tighten the longest bolt at the passenger side cylinder 8 that is. In the beginning it helped but once the rust process starts it is too late to save it.
