Was looking for a project that I could ideally do most of the restoration myself and came across this 69 GS350. Previous owner rebuilt the engine and trans, but it needs some body work, suspension, brakes, interior which should keep me busy for awhile. It's a 4spd which i was looking for and drives pretty good, drove it an hour from previous owners place to mine. Only issue, that i can see right now, is power steering pump is leaking. I'm almost certain I'll be on here searching and asking questions. First one, how do i check to see if engine and trans are original? Numbers matching is not super important but just want to know.

Thanks for the article, I'll have to check and see what i got.

I'm located in the northern Virginia area, near Alexandria. The car is actually located at my girlfriend's house in Southern Maryland. Gonna do most the work there, got two other cars in the garage here, running out of room.

    Nice - 350 4-sp cars are a blast.

If by chance you need a trunk floor, let me know. I have an extremely nice orig. '69 and am not far from you.

Dano, yeah, I'm gonna have to send you a message, there is some rust that's gone through on the trunk floor so i'll be replacing that. There's a few small patches that I'll need to address on the floor pans but it seems pretty good overall.

I tried to find some casting numbers on the block, really couldn't find any. I did find a set of numbers on the cylinder heads and the intake manifold, was hoping someone could help me identify what they are.

The numbers you are looking for are stamped not cast. Look on the deck and the front left side.

Sounds good! Sooner the better:). I could use the space/$. You won't find a nicer one. I wish I had a use for it. I was doing someone a "favor" & got stuck w/it. He said he wanted it & it happened the guy who had it for sale was in WI & was going to be driving right by my house so I said he could have it dropped off here & I'd pay for it & he could pay me when he picked it up, which he never did.
