Plastic grill insert for 68' Riv

The 68' Riv that I purchased had a plastic grill insert with the swivel headlights, etc but it was not mounted on the car, it was in pieces in the trunk. When I went to bolt it on, the bolt pattern did not match up to the steel mounting frame, behind the bumper.
Is this the wrong grill insert? Or does it need some kind of additional bracket between the insert and the steel mounting frame? That doesn't make much sense to me but if they were using the same grill insert on multiple models, they might go that route.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Post pics. And I can answer your question. I can also take pics of mine to help show you where everything goes.

The '68 plastic 'egg crate' grill is a 'Riviera only' part, and the '69 grill, while a different design, mounts exactly the same.
The 8 mounting studs in the grill hold each of the 4 left and right headlight pivot plates on either side of the headlight pod opening, they in turn, are fastened to the front rad support at 8 locations.
The grill mounts as an 'assembly' with the headlight pods in position, and the 8 studs on the back of each of the pod pivots (...2 per each pivot), will line up with all the holes in the rad. support braces.
The job is also much easier with the front bumper 'off' the car, as the complete grill assembly is mounted behind the bumper. :TU:

Thank you! I have removed the bumper because it didn't take me long to figure out that it was easier to put that back on. I didn't think about the headlight pods possibly having a different pattern. Much appreciated.
