Frank painted a steering wheel for me (grey) to match my white interior '65 GS. EXACT color match. AMAZING work!!!! Well worth the price.

Simply put, if you own a '64-66 Skylark GS, you need this repro wheel!

Pics will be posted in a few days...

    Thanks Frank! :TU:

The SEM Finishing instructions want to know the kind of plastic these wheels are made of, (ABS, PVC, TPO, EPDM, PP) to use the proper Adhesion promoter???
    Can you fill me in.

Has anyone put one of these on the car yet? I have finally got around to painting mine but when I try to fit it, I cant seem to get it to get close enough to the column. There is like a 1 inch gap as opposed to the much smaller gap with the original. All of the measurements seem to be the same as the original but I just cant get it to push any further on.:Do No:

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    -Rich

I had my floor shift column apart and have the steering rod set to high. I have to loosen the lock bolt on the flange by the steering box and slide it down a little.

If the poll included a 67, I would say cracked bad enough to want a new one. I would probably have to wait a while to buy one since I have higher priority things to fix.
You are right about the cost of setting up to build them. I'm not sure about the steering wheel molding process, but I have a friend that makes molds for plastic parts and I know that it is a very expensive process. With the hard plastic they get lots of parts from a single mold, but it costs a ton in start up cost. I think a steering wheel is a lot more complex because of the steel in the center.

I used SEM Landau Black and topped it with SEM High gloss clear, then polished with plastic scratch remover. It came out near perfect.
    Thanks Frank, Great Job.
