i would leave those wheels and that ride height tbh. that thing looks amazing. im not a fan of buckets but its not my car either. what are those wheels btw? i would like a set in 17s lol.
Cool to see enthusiasm for these 66 LeSabre's increasing! Mine started as a way to cruise around in something you don't see everyday with my kids. My daughter named it "Sally". When the 340 gave up, we decided we would "do a little work" to Sally so she was more dependable & drive-able. Still not sure exactly how it happened, but ended up massaging the firewall & tunnel to fit a LS6 (with a little work done) & 4L65E. Suspension got the ridetech air ride treatment w/ coolride bags, upper & lower strong & air management. Brakes were upgrade w/ dual master cyl, hydroboost & disc brakes. Exhaust is 2.5" duals w/ flowmaster HP's dumped before the rear axle. Interior i got really lucky & stumbled onto a complete saddle interior from 65 Wildcat rag with column, console & shifter, matched my interior perfectly. Linkage from Shiftworks connects the 4L65 to OE shifter after column shift was swapped out. Currently rear-end is out, just waiting on parts for re-gear & posi. Body is far from perfect, she has had a couple "economy paint jobs" in her time, a fender bender, wrong center caps, missing grill script, dings in some of the chrome & a rust bubble here & there. But she looks good going down the road, not bad in a parking lot from 10-15ft & she sounds absolutely pissed off you when smack the go pedal. (I think my son is still giggling from our 1st burnout) For me, the journey of the build, gettin out & using the car, the memories made with my Dad & kids, cruisin around in an incomplete project, laughin our buts off when we blow the doors off a 5.0 mustang that wants some action at a stop light, then pullin over to BS with him & check his car out, that's what this hole car hobby thing is all about. It definitely gets me to the grocery store & back!
I've got to agree, I love seeing some other 66 lesabres out there, for years and years I never saw any other ones anywhere. Yours is awesome, sounds like quite a project! Very impressive what you've put into it, thanks for sharing.
My 67 GS 400 gold mist. Was one of my grade school buddies dads car before I got it. Ive owned for 15 years and finally saved enough to get her lookin shiny! BBB 430 punched 30 over TH 400 3 speed
Heck ya! Keep at it! At times it seemed like I would never get the ole buick fixed up! But long term goals are sweet when you see the final product!
My '66 Wildcat Custom convertible. Bought it as you see here. Previous owner rebuilt motor + trans and did new paint, upholstery & top.
