I realized I kinda hijacked the other thread.
    My apologies. No disrespect meant.
Gauging interest on a un-warping jig for Quadrajets.
I built this one because my original quad got warped sometime in its past.
I have used it on several others since and it has worked well.
I will work up the details and get back with a price.

    Thank you. Doug

Interesting....I just make sure to minimize torque on the mounting bolts, and if there's any warpage of the air horn to keep it matched to the bowl casting. If the price isn't outrageous, I'd be interested.

    I would be interested, too.

If you're on any other GM forums, it may be worthwhile to gauge their interest as well.

If anyone is interested in an original unwarping set-up PM me. I quit doing rebuilds and restorations and have been selling off tools, cores, etc......

I do follow the BOP crowd and Cliff R.
And although I do have some Bowtie blood in me, I havent really found a site that isnt model specific.
    Any recommendations?

This is my lunch time gig and sometimes as you know, you dont always get a lunch.
My first one was done on the fly.
These will be CNCed. So I am getting prints done up and developing some programs.
And because I put it together for the late model carbs, I want to make sure I can accomadate the early ones and some other stuff.
I will be asking you all with some early stuff some ???'s in the future.
Plan is already in place for this to include hardware so you can convert it into an assembly stand.

    Thank you. Doug

    I don't always/often get notifications either. @Mike Bucy?

What do you &/or Fred do to unwarp them?

A little update. Prints are in the works. Its stupid busy at work, so getting in the Haas may be tight, but hope to have the first new prototype done in a couple weeks. I tore down one of my cores for a trial run and will document the best I can.
A question I have for those that have some earlier carbs around is if there is anything on the airhorn or main casting that hangs below or above the plane of the gasket surfaces that is different than the later models?? How different are the areas around the well plugs between early and late?
Basically looking for anything I have to make room for that I dont have already.
I do have some cores, so if you come up with anything I will go through my pile and see if I have something that is similar to tear down and use as a pattern.
A application/pics would help in that instance.

    Thank you.

One more quiz. Some Quads used the extra set of pull over enrichment (POE) tubes. I dont have one with them, but are the locations for those tubes in the airhorn already? I am thinking they are, but want to make sure.

    Thank you.
    Doug.

I would just remove the tubes, it doesn’t take much effort.

I thought there was a extra thick gasket out there that resolved some of those issues.

If it's not badly warped, the thick gasket can help.
