Quoting a post?

    If there is a very long post and you just want to quote a portion of it, how do you do that? I've seen it here so I know there must be a way, I just haven't figured it out. I have clicked quote and then removed all but what I want to quote but it comes out regular type rather than italic, looking like I posted it myself. Hope someone can help me with this. Thanks.

    Make sure the [] and [/] brackets are still intact at the beginning and end of the quote. If one of those brackets are missing, then it will not quote correctly.

    What happens when people highlight and delete portions of a quote, is that the [/ bracket gets deleted at the end of the quote. Just make sure you don't lose any of the code when you're deleting text. If you do, then replace it. It should look like this:

    PHP:
    [quote]This is the quoted text[/quote]
