Has anyone done this swap? If so, does it eliminate some of the hassle of installing a 455 into the 73/74 Apollo?
Where do you acquire a rack kit? Part numbers? Steering column issues if any?

I would assume that by eliminating the steering box a person could pretty much position the engine wherever they wanted, within reason.

I’ve done 2 74’s with stock suspension. One with custom S2 headers and 1 with exhaust manifolds. Easy if you have no AC.

I would look on the Nova forums regarding the rack and pinion setup. I found some decent information and reviews about it. I have a 74 I am thinking about putting a rack in for header clearance and to improve the overall feel. It’s to bad no one makes a standard 455 swap kit for the Apollo or headers for the Buick 350 or 455 for use in the Apollo. I guess there just wouldn’t be enough money in it and I get that.

It's not needed unless you want to run headers. This swap has probably been covered a bunch in nova/ f-body world.

I went through some of the threads on here and found this one that covers what you are looking to do.
