I'm completing the engine bay detailing on my early build (Sept 69) 1970 GS455. I've got the plastic radiator cover and the clear overflow tank and the early emission decal for the radiator cover. But, I've seen a few 1970 GS with another skinny decal under the short decal or on the top of the fan shroud. Is this a correct early 1970 decal or, not? If so, what's the part number and source?
And, I wish it were mine. That's just a pic I found that had the extra decal on the radiator cover that I was asking about.
Could it be this decal? Emissions Decal 1970 [D294-3] 1970 All V-8 Evaporative Control Decal http://www.oldbuickparts.com/product_info.php?products_id=8946 Here's a pic of a (non Stage-I) 1970 GS 455 engine bay:
If your 1970 car was built for the California market it would have come with the NA9 evaporative emission system and would have had the secondary sticker. If it was a 49 state car then it did not get it. The 1970 NA9 cars had a unique charcoal canister, emission lines, etc. Duane PS. The first pic has a 72-newer style radiator in it.
