    Hi folks,

Somebody sells (can't remember who) a GM Restoration trunk lid for 70-72. Even though they prolly use the original molds, I believe it is made in China.

I would like any/all opinions from people who have bought and installed this.

    Thanks!

I bought one about 5 years ago and had a heck of a time getting the trunk lock cylinder retainer to work. Couldn't get it to push all the way in flush with the underside of the trunk so you could put that little retaining screw in :af:

there are still plenty of good originals here in the southwest.
currently have two available - 70 skylark and 71 skylark.
why go china when real US / Canadian examples are out there?

x2 on that. I'm pretty sure they interchange with a Chevelle. Maybe someone else can confirm this, but if so there should be tons of them out there.

Yup, interchange with Chevelle, Monte Carlo and Grand Prix of that era.

    Hi folks,

Thanks for the replies. As well, tho I knew it was the same as Monte Carlo and Chevelle, I didn't know Grand Prix was the same.

Yes, there are a few originals out there, for sure, but shipping is always costly. As well, a lot more prep time involved in stripping the decks, which by now may have multiple coats of paint, as opposed to starting with a fresh piece.

I had heard threre were some minor, aggravating issues with the GM restoration pieces, which always puzzled me, since I thought they were stamped from the original GM molds??

Goodmark is in N.C. and I have a friend who drives from there to S.C. and could deliver a repop for free.

Anyway, if anyone knows of a good used one within driving distance to S.C. please let me know.

    Thanks!
