Coming home today up a big long hill in town could see a rather tuned STI coming up on me pretty fast he had been trying to catch up since the last light I went kinda slow so he could haha
Just at bottom of hill ( about a 6% grade ) at about 40 we both hit it hard
I took him pretty good for the first half and then we slowed down for traffic once all cleared I was right on his bumper pushing him and we hit it again and was pretty even until about 75-80 then I started to pull him again then we had to slow down when I got up even with him
it was a blast we both had huge smiles and gave each other big thumbs up at the top
First person I got to challenge after getting my gears changed could not have done that before wouldn't have even tried on a car like that
very pleased with my car now

I hope your STI kill story gets a better reaction here than mine did. They were kind enough to stop just short of calling me a liar though, so that was nice.

Anyway, congrats, sounded fun for you both. So now there's actually 2 of us on this site that believe it can happen.

Hmmm don't believe me huh guess you guys should try and race a few of them.
Bet lots that most of you have faster cars then me.
Really doubt he wasnt just playing with me most of it was probably cause we were going up a big hill and V8 power came out on top
maybe I couldn't do it on the flat I don't know but it was fun for us both

Cool. Here's a "modified Buick". So what does either of these prove pertaining to this particular situation??

And Charlie, Kirt's poking fun at me, not you. (It's in good fun, Kirts a pal)

Not a brand new car it was an older one and we only got up to about 85 90 ya much more room and I would of been topped out while he kept going
It was fun now I know what I can compete with around town ( not a track )
Aaaannnd he probably went home and ordered a bigger turbo or something ha ha
Don't worry the next story I post will be me getting my butt handed to me I'm sure

Big cubes vs. power adder, takes a lot to beat a 455. Nice job!

    No I'm just a 350
My son and I are building another 72 for him and he has a 455 for it has atomic EFI and only about 1800 miles on it so just broken in
I'll be the one needing a power adder so he can't out run old Dad
He only has a th350 and 2.56 open gears for behind it right now though so I've got an advantage there

My son's friend brought an STI in to change the oil and add an oil cooler. I popped the hodd, and realized it was missing something. I think I fixed it

Even better yet I see you are a 350 with 390 gears good move there on gears. add a 80 shot of nitrous like I did and you will smack around a few more. I ran a 125 shot for a few years that was fun, I backed it off to be a LLittle (ha) easier on the motor.

Be careful of those things. My middle son has one that's been modded and I have NEVER been in a car that quick.

Ya I know they are fast I've driven a few modified ones of customers and I know I wouldn't be able to keep up on flat ground. Lots of steep hills around here I got an advantage there.
But yes I know one of those guys will show me what's up sooner than later I bet
