I'm pretty sure the truth is somewhere in the middle of those two options, but since that's all we have to choose from, it's not a hard decision...

Well, I don't think he actually does any of the work, but he comes up with a lot of the crazy ideas. I think he has, and has had, some talented guys working for him. Even they have some zaney ideas sometimes. But his personality and attitude is definitely annoying. I wouldn't take my car to him even if I could afford him. I'm not impressed with what they do to most of the builds I've seen, probably go into the "ruined" catagory.
alot of ppl are envious a self man men and that exactly what he is,was a cop,paramedic,and fireman,sold commercial printing,made 400 grand for the company he worked for,started his own company and now is very sucessful money,there are alot more ppl who like his show that dont,i dont have any idea what he is like in real life,dont care,i have met tomazoski a number of times in the early days and found him to be an arrogent ass!
From what I know, it’s a big act. You should listen to the joe rogan podcast that features him on it. He is much more “normal”..
If you want your car to be a low rider than go there, if you have crazy budget you can always build nice cars. I eveny all the ppl who can do the custom metal work and all that, they are real ppl that make the car nice, RR is the front man that gets all the credit., but also took the risk They started small worked hard and climbed way up the ladder. No one can take that from them.
Yeah he acts like a big dick on the show. He is probably a nice dick really. Cant blame a guy for being a dick.
I choose god thinking I’d be the only one...lol I think his TV personally makes him look like an ass but I do like his business sense and ideas he comes up with, gotta give him credit there worked his way into dodge and other things. He’s making money with cars.
With his ass monkey garage and restaurant, plus all his other endevors, he's making some serious $$$.
"Reality TV" is about high ratings, and to get high ratings, enough people have to watch, and for enough people to watch, there has to be drama... Face the facts, the guy has been pursuing his desires since he was a kid. He is a hard charger and a go getter, and that always leaves the whiny "but I want to be him" kids in the dirt. Life's tough. Get a fucking helmet. True arrogance is a result of taking the risk and coming out on top. And a lot of people who are unwilling to put forth the fight to win, or willing to take the hits that will be encountered in the pursuit of the best, will find a bench to sit on and bitch. The whole point in this is to count the cost, pursue the goal, but try not to harm anyone one not in the fight. Go big or stay home.
A buddy of mine met Richard once and talked to him for a good while and said he’s actually pretty cool. Like everything else on TV, his TV persona is fake. Take everything you see on TV, newspaper, internet etc with a grain of salt...

All of the car shows talk cash when trying to buy and make a deal but I can't remember if Richard Rawlings is the one that constantly talks "I have cash on me now" and show's this cash quite often? I can watch a few show's just to see some nice cars and would like to "believe" arrogance is part of the plot. A ways off the cuff of this thread but again I cannot watch "Fantom Works" for more than 10 minutes before I start screaming at the screen and change the channel. Sorry had to let that thought out of my head
All of these shows add so much drama to the way I'm pretty sure it really is. No one can behave like that all the time and actually hope to stay in business and be successful. Look at his friend that owns the off-road shop(s). Probably a better representation of a person. Now I have to give RR credit. He's a heck of a salesman and a heck of a businessman. And I'd bet he's irritated more than a few people along the way. But that's life. Is he a total d&%k, no. Is he a god that can go no wrong. No. I do like what he does with a number of cars, but he and his shop is definitely not a restoration shop for purists.
