    Hi everybody

I want to go 255/60/15 all around (currently 245/60/15) and wanted to ask you if you think the most-probably all original springs are too far sunken in over the decades? Don`t want to run into rubbing issues with the new set of rubber. Car is a 1971 GS 455 auto wo/AC

I`m a little uncertain for you often see photos of cars with fresh springs that sit higher(I kind of like that look), but then, when you check out press and ad photos from 1971, the back of the GS sits quite low too.

If you have a favourite spring I`m happy to hear about it.

Any comment appreciated, even if I should leave it like this ;)

    Hey Nailhead

Thanks for your reply, I`ll edit my post so I`m not confusing people too much.

The wheel(tough it might look like 14") is actually the trustworthy 15", so it`s 245/60/15.

I`ll switch over to 255/60/15 if possible (should be, even on the 15x7 wheel as mentioned many times in the threads I found ).

Wow, now that`s detailed info, thanks for your time.

I`ll check on the steering clearence asap. You think, from the photos, the car sits too deep ?

From checking on the above shown pics, you think it sits right, or too low maybe?

Nailheads postings have vanished, I don`t know why...he gave me some good answers on the tire height, but it seems be be deletetd. Just so you guys don think I talking to myself, haha...

The P255/60R-15 is 4/10" taller at 27", than the P245/60R-15 (26.6"). It is 10mm wider. I have 255's on the front of my GS. You have a better perspective on what will fit your car being that you can look at your clearance now. What fits on one person's car is not predictive on what will fit your car, too many variables. I find it hard to believe you would have any problem at all, but look and see.

Hi Larry, yes, you told me that some time ago in a different thead. That why I posted the pictures now for I `m afraid I`ll put on some new 255s and suddenly have rubbing issues. Maybe it would need some new springs and bushings to accomodate the 255s in good order...
But maybe I just go and try tthe 255s out, lets see ;)

    Thanks for your reply
