I was struggling with making a steel fuel line and connecting to my RobbMC mechanical pump but making it look as stock as possible. Turns out with a little tweaking the factory style stage 1 fuel line will work quite nicely.

I hear there's a guy that can make one that is excellent quality and looks factory.

Looks great. One word of caution. It looks like it will be very close to the power steering belt like it was on mine. That’s why my line with the fuel pressure tap was made so close to the pump. Be sure to check it before you install the motor.

No power steering for this car.

Yup, manual steering makes the two bends at the bottom possible. With A PS car, you can't have the line that far in front of the pump. Hence the requirements for fittings to keep that line very close to the pump.

    Nice work Bob.

Just cut a 2" section out of the line where the belt runs.

I saw the non-painted part of the cylinder head and thought “power steering issue”, but then I spied the manual box.

If at some point you were to use this motor in a car with power steering, you could use this line as a template and eliminate/reduce the bends where it kicks out near the fuel pump.

    Rich,

The problem with those two 90* bends at the bottom of the pump with a PS application, is that I have yet to see a bender that will bend those 90's any closer than that. You would have to have a much smaller radius bender, and then the steel tube tends to flatten.

    Jim,

Would the line work for PS applicaation, if it continued straight to the same lowest point as the line Bob has, using a 180* "J" bend at the bottom with continuous radius, rather then two 90*s.

"Poorman's CAD" the line is not straight, just the idea.

I made a slight adjustment. The line clears the rear pulley groove with room to spare now. I appreciate the input and advise.
