what's going on Buick world!! This is my first restoration and I purchased this 72 Buick Skylark about a year ago and it has been a little more than I can chew... however the saying goes, but I am definitely going finish my first build. I really want to do an engine swap to a 455 but im no mechanic. I do body work and paint a little bit lol. I just want to know everything I need to know before even considering swapping engines. I could just keep the 350 in it and just beef it up a little bit but my pops say F that little engine and put you a big block in there!! So im stuck and need help on making the right decision?? The 350 also runs but it needs a lot of attention, to be where I want it to be!!

I am currently in school working on my project. I really want it to be one of the nicest cars to come out of the class and I am dedicated on doing so. So I would also like to know anything I need to watch out for when doing this restoration??

The pics are from when I first purchased it but I do have recent pics also!!

Welcome to a fellow NC native! She looks pretty straight and solid in the recent pics in your album. Regarding the motor choice, it'll all depend on what you're looking to get out of it. I'm more of a body guy myself too, but there are plenty of knowledgeable folks here on the board when it comes to getting the most out of your Buick powerplant. Looks like a Gold or Copper color originally, what are you planning on as far as paint/interior goes? :beers2:

Preciate it bro!! And the body is very much solid other than the rust spots I'm replacing..... But It had a goldish paint job and I'm currently thinking about doing a candy red paint job with black interior and I'm also thinking about putting a black vinyl top on it!!

6.0 LS in the works can't say the paint color yet because it's undecided if plastidip will be used...[IMG] kinda partial to this plastidip.
