Anyone looked at using a Rover 4.0 timing cover on Buick SBB? I’m guessing crank snout mods would be needed. If this is possible it would be an oiling upgrade.

Pretty sure it's been done. The late Buick V6 also used that style pump. Both had longer crank snouts but I'm pretty sure there would be a way around that. We don't use them on the LBCs (little British cars) because we don't generally have the room up there, and also since learning how to optimize the SBB oiling system properly they aren't really needed.

I know you’ve shared your learnings of the oiling before but do you kind re posting? I’m busy at work or I would search your previous posts.

Well of course you know it's just the usual things:
Set up the short block with .001" clearances
    Use the 5/8" pickup
Enlarge the suction galley to 9/16" or better
    Radius the corners
Port the pump inlet oil passages
Set the pump end clearance to half a thou
Use the double groove front cam bearing
Use the booster plate if you like, port it also

That's pretty much it. Use a relief spring that pops off at about 70psi. I've found you can get that by stretching the stock spring out a bit.
