Hey guys I know this is a little off topic but I'm looking for a s10 zr2 regular cab like the one in the picture. Must be a regular cab.
hard to find it seems most are extended cab. https://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/d/yukon-4x4-chevy-s10-zr-off-road-v6/7521816793.html
My brother owned a 94 zr2 for almost 20 years. It was a single cab with a 5 speed. It was a cool little truck. He eventually put a real locker in the back and it was a really capable rig.
In stead of paying 30k for a side by side I figured I would buy one of these and go wheeling in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. After all they are literally in my back yard!
in 94 you could only get a zr2 in regular cab. dad had a ext cab that had every offroad option but you couldnt get the wider track with a ext cab. idk if you could in 95. just fun fact lol. you may look for one in 94 for that reason or its gmc cousin the highrider. in the later models idk if you could get a reg cab with zr2 actually. idk have to look it up. and i think the high rider went away after about 96 or 97.
thats not a real zr2. a real zr2 had a 3 inch wider track than the regular s10. it would have factory fender flares. also they all where standard with a 8.5 rear vs the 7.5. idk how the rear was wider but the front had either different spindles or a arms one idr. i have the 94 brochure at home that explains it. dads 94 has the 8.5 rear as well but like i said he couldnt get the zr2 package with ext cab so it didnt get the wider track. the suspension package that had everything but wider track was called zm6 iirc. came with same springs as zr2 the bilstien shocks and stabilizer bar skid plates 8.5 rear with 373 gears etc... .
https://www.mecum.com/lots/OH1110-99511/1994-chevrolet-s10-extended-cab-pickup/ that has the zm6 close to dads but dads was red with silver around the bottom had no molding and split bench instead of buckets. thing was tough as nails in mud.
I have a 2000 S10 4x4 standard cab with the 4.3L that was repainted prior to me buying it. It's my daily driver and has 255,000+ miles on it. Since it's been repainted how would I know if it's a zr2 or not? Keith
In the glove box there's option codes. Should say zr2. I'm sure its not because zr2's are taller and wider in the suspension. and they have factory flares. But thanks.
I was told when it was repainted that the box was replaced. So to me that kinda throws out the whole fender flare thing. I was just curious if there was like a code stamped somewhere that would tell. I'm going to check out the glove box like blue wagon said and see what I find. Keith
