Sunburst Yellow was a 1972 color and also the color of my first GS back in high school.

Interesting car because of the buckets. I guess only SCO cars got them if ordered. The door panels are from 1971.

Dah me, I was thinking in my mind it was a 70. Not into the GS!s much, what is making this one an SCO Car? My 72 books are still in PA so can’t look. I was looking at a SCO Sunburst Yellow Centurion a while back.

The door panels are not from a 71 but are the correct design for a 72 convertible.

Buick decided not to install wood grained door panels on the 72 convertibles, as they were afraid the wood graining would get messed up from the weather..........therefore they used the same design panels as the 71 cars. The only thing that changed was some of the colors.

Only the 72 Coupes with the deluxe interiors came with the wood grain.

The bucket seat option for a 72 convertible is the SCO. If it was not a SCO car then it would have had a bench seat.

Buckets were special order in a vert in 71 and 72.

Duane, thanks for the clarity on the convertible door panels. Makes sense not to have the wood grain exposed to the weather.

    Yeah,
My 70 442 convertible has wood grain on the door panels and over the years it has taken a beating. Now I don't know if Buick was looking at how the Olds panels were holding up, but it does make sense.

Nice car. The black interior would also be part of the SCO because it was not a recommended color for convertibles in ‘71 and ‘72 I don’t believe? Notice the passenger side chrome mirror.

I believe it has black interior, dl. I will admit the photos make it look somewhat green, but look at all the photos and it clearly shows the color is black.

I thought it was green at first when I looked on my iPad, but then on my computer and phone it appears black.
