Anyone have a Skylark NOS Right Fender for sale? A Buick Brother is doing a frame off on a 1972 GS.

I have a rust-free used one and I have one that was NOS and installed sometime in the 90’s. This is the one that was NOS. The last picture shows where the GM sticker was.

I don't understand why a 1970-72 Skylark front fenders have not been reproduced. I saw fiberglass ones but no metal ones.

Tooling costs. Sales will be good for a little while. Nobody can afford to sit on inventory that is a slow mover.

There was a run of parts by AMD they did not sell, and the Parts Place bought the remaining inventory plus tooling.

I doubt there will be another run of the parts.

The NOS ones I've seen a wile back were big money. What is a going price on a NOS set?

Similar situations exist with many other generations of certain cars. 75-79 Novas, for instance. People complain that they can't find radiator supports, or rear bumpers. You offer something up, and then it's crickets. Guess they just don't want to pay for it, or the logistics.

Every time a car is restored, there are less parts available.

The fenders and even the hood were very close to production from AMD but they bailed out,..when I spoke to the AMD sales manager years ago,..he told me about the hood being very close to production ready

Because the NOS ones need "fixing" they've stayed more reasonably priced - $15-1700 seems to be the current going rate for a pair.

A lot of these parts can easily cost 6 figures from the start of the production to a final product. Anyone willing to float that amount of coin will want a fairly quick return on investment.
When there is only original NOS,a repop will lower the value of an NOS to a certain extent because now there is another option. Is it as good? Almost never. The 70-72 AMD 1/4’s are one of those exceptions. Those are very nice full 1/4’s. If those were never made, you would see the NOS 1/4’s bring higher money. A prime example of this is the 70-72 Cutlass/442 hardtop 1/4’s yes, there are partial skins, but there has never been a full repop 1/4 with the sail panel and jamb. This is why if and when you find NOS 1/4’s for these, they bring north of $5k because there is no other option. The NOS convertible 1/4’s brought over $3500.00 at one time, but when the full repops came out that looked just like the NOS,with the jambs, the value of the NOS tanked.
