George. Have you ever made it out to Airport Towing in Orlando? It has been since '98 when I lived down there. The yard had a buch of older cars. Of course the mopars I was picking off of was in a swamp. Got chased by a few cottonmouths..lol. If you ever go by there let me know if you see a 64 4-dr Fury with a/c. there use to bee one there. Anyway back to Buicks, they use to have 6 or so early Riv's and a few Larks. It's been 6 years since so you might aught to call first, see if thier in business still.
Have not been to Airport Towing. That is a drive for me since I am west of Tampa, on the beaches. Probably a 2 hr drive. Maybe one day if I have time, will make it over there. As for Memory Lane, they were featured on the new Hot Rod show on Discovery Channel, Fridays at 9pm Eastern. Lotsa nice stuff!
Canadian Looking for Canadian places for finding Buicks??? Im in Newfoundland Canada and I cant locate any.... I am looking to buy but dont have the pleasure of picking......
Well right now Im sitting with a 350 buick engine and no car so I guess the parts that Im looking for are a decent car to restore and I can work from there.... would love a GS.....
Sorry to jump right in here but WHERE IS THIS PLACE? I live in San Diego and I'm thinking if it's just up the pike a little I feel road trip coming on!
Couldnt find your custom on Ebay found a couple nice cars but everything and I mean everything is to damn far away from Newfoundland Canada
Each time I see photos of these CA yards I am just amazed. You guys trade stories and talk about these places as if they were as common as the corner grocery store. Here in Ohio you can't even find a decent yard with anything prior to 1980! Like the guys from the midwest and east have said, if we do find an older yard it is small, may have a few skeletons buried deep in the mud and weeds and you better be able to outrun a cloud of hornets. That's if you are lucky enough to be allowed to enter the yard at all. Forget the fact that you guys can't always find the Buicks you are looking for, these yards are gold mines anyway! From where I sit I would think that one could finance just about any Buick project simply by buying any of this old iron and selling it (at one nice profit) to us poor have nots back east. Most of the cars in the photos are cleaner and more rust free than a lot of the newer stuff in yards here. I'm curious, what would the average price be for one entire car of those photographed?
I know I went to one of the local "Scrap Yards" here and he said he doesnt even keep anything before 1985!!! I cant find a sensible body anywhere for my 350.......
Don't forget to consider shipping a car. I think you can ship a car from FL to NY for $1000-1200. You are limiting your search to New Foundland only. We have many nice cars here in FL. A local owner has a beater 70 GS350 for sale. Car is overpriced at $5k. More like $2k. Just an example. Good Luck!
New guy here. Have you guye checked out www.pvilleparts.com I spent some time walking around the yard a few years ago. All I can say is AWSOME.
Hey on that 69 could you possibly check the passengers side inner fender and core support. Iam in desperate need of both. You could let me know at rnoel1969@yahoo.com . Thanks
Robert S. Is that memory lane? I would love to come see it. When are you free for a tour? PM with # I will call. I am in barstow, so it is a short drive. Chris
