Well Well got my boy his first ride
    51 Chevy styleline deluxe
Seems all original expect one paint job
216 six cylinder 3 on da tree keep his ass from speeding and texting.
Just brought it home today from Arizona.
The guy I got it from was in Iowa he was heading to barrett-jackson and we made a deal to bring there and I can get it from him.
She drives nice and smooth and ticks like an old typewriter.
Here is a quick walk around video
All the moldings and extras were inside the trunk.
Can't wait for the weekend now especially with my son...as a year runs down my eye...

That's a real sweet heart! I would bet that there wont be another car like it in the HS parking lot (assuming he is still in school). Reminds me of the 53 chev 2 door I had in the day in HS.

Those are good solid cars; I drove a 49 Fleetline for years.

JOE!!! Can I be your son? What a very cool car. Texting? Oh heck no. Not with a three on the tree. His arms and hands, along with his left and right foot already have plenty to do just pulling out of the driveway! Nice......

Nice car joe! I have a off topic question for ya, do you recall the manufacturer and style name of those rims on your truck in the pics? They look pretty nice!

IMG_20200112_163612668_HDR.jpg Thanks for all the comments guys
    She is a nice ride
Paint has a lot of orange peel stuff going on it needs a sand n buff also interior is all original and old of course. I'll post pics this weekend of things. Door panels are flat so we are going to make a run to the fabric store and get some material to make something cheap and simple for now the goal is to help my son and he can upgrade to his liking when he gets job and cash he is 15 now. The car really needs just good cleaning up small things check brakes fluids etc.... It's not hard to remover a part sand it prime it paint it and reinstall....
The rims on my truck are replicas of original wheels from Chevy but chrome and 22 inch.

Lucky son!! My first car in high school was a Hillman with 4 on the tree.. Became a pile of rust.
I remember my dad owned a '51 chev deluxe, green in colour, 4 dr sedan.

Sweet ride. My first car was a 1951 Chevy, 2 door coupe. I paid $25.00 for it in 1964 when I was 15 years old. Worked all summer to save up the $25.00.

When I graduated High School in 1980, my Dad bought me a 1964 Mercury Meteor with the Breezeway back window. Unfortunately, I was too young and immature at that point to really appreciate what he had gotten me. Wish I had it now.

He won’t be texting, but be careful. That’s a big back seat!

Very nice car and lucky son. My first car at 15 was a 1951 Ford two door that a widow sold. Was the economy model, no body stainless. Bought a 1951 Chevy coupe automatic in 1962 as a freshman at UT Austin. Car had been sitting at the curb for months and I walked by it on the way to the boarding house to eat dinner each day. Found the owner, bought it cheap, and got it running. Got it running and it got me back and forth to Houston from Austin for a while. I upgraded to a 55 Chevy 210 2 door a year later and a 1957 2 door hardtop in my last year at UT. Wish I still had all three, 51, 55, & 57.:(

Good choice for a first car!
Not from the make model or year of car so much, but from the standpoint that he will have to actually DRIVE and OPERATE the car:D
Shift the trans, turn lights on and off all by himself, operate a MANUAL choke (Im assuming its manual), crank windows, manual locks, manual seat, manual heater controls.
A first vehicle like that promotes integrity, character, and an appreciation for "modern amenities" and doesn't feel "entitled":cool:
