Looking for these Iteams. How much money should I expect to be paying for these? i have a guy who is parting out a 70 Stage 1 and he wants to sell the heads, carb, intake, tranny and rear end. Don't know what this stuff is going for. It's a non air car.
I'm no expert, but I'd say the answer partially depends on whether the parts are cores, are operational, or rebuilt. If you don't need the tranny, I'd be interested. I had a guy offer me a recently rebuilt BB tranny for $1200, but he changed his mind. UticaGeoff
service replacement carb cores have gone for $250-300ish needing rebuild a "real" stage1 carb would be worth quite a bit to the right person
No car is not gone just taken apart. Silver with black top and std bench. Tach and gauges. 3:64 rear. Short block is gone and tranny is a 70BB from another car. 7040246 is carb number. Car has disk brakes. Might buy the whole thing and part it out. the guy must just need some cash because he wasn't interested in selling the whole car. i think he figures he can get more for parts when he needs money. He said he will pick away at it. so might be selling some of the parts. ---------- Post added at 04:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:42 PM ---------- Car is in a garage in Youngstown. I am at the mercy of what he wants to do with the car. I don't want to seam to eager with him. I don't need the parts I would probably resell most of what he will let go.
I can check next time I am there. It's about an hour and half away. if anyone wants anything else checked out let me know. ---------- Post added at 05:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:01 PM ---------- It's a pretty complete car just mostly disassembled.
date code on the carb will determine if its service replacement or not Another thing to check to be sure its not a restamp or a pieced together unit is to look for the secondary pullover enrichment discharge ports ABOVE the secondary air flaps instead of below. Stage 1 carbs were the only Buick carbs with this feature.
Recently I put out a part wanted ad for an early Stage1 246 carburetor. A respected board member contacted me and said he had one he would sell for $2500.00 firm.
Thanks Jim. Are you still looking for those rims? i might have a set that came off my nov 1969 Gs455. let me know.Chris.
No Chris, The Stratomist car is on the market right now. I bought a set of wheels and tires from Bob Linquist, I am going to sell them, along a 246 carb, Late 69 and a set of heads I will be getting rid of sometime this summer. Best of Luck. Hope to see see you at the races again someday. Cheers!
I have a 2939 build date original 246 carb.I wasn't really looking to sell,I use it on my test stand for running in motors I do and it runs great as is.I'd have to have market value for it if interested.Email me at gpaine@windstream.net gary
