I got caught in a rain storm coming home from a show yesterday and when I got home opened the hood to dry and wipe it down, I notice this white crap all over my air cleaner lid. Then I realized the white from the letters had come off and were stuck all over. Dang, never thought the decal would disintegrate with water. Any body has a better company - place that sells good quality decals? I've never had this issue before. I can't believe the amount of garbage supply some people sell. Yet, I have 50 year old decals on air cleaner lids that still look decent. It's all going to hell in a hand basket! Fernando
I sended him a PM, I haven't seen him around here lately. If someone could pm me his number I don't mind calling and wishing him a wonderful thanksgiving. Fernando
I'll PM you his number Fernando. He only has Stage1 stickers as far as I know, but it doesn't hurt to ask. He may know of a source. https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/repro-embossed-air-cleaner-decals-for- https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/stage-2-sticker.375803/sale.376392/ https://www.stage1restoration.com/product/air-cleaner-decal-stage-2/ Maybe clear coat it when you replace it?
The Parts Place now has a new decal, a metal stamped one. They say they bought out Jim Osborns (sp?) stash, who had them reproduced long ago. It is a nice piece but not cheap $22 + the ride here. I get it and they didn't package it correctly and the mail people bend the envelop trying to fit it in the mailbox. Luckily I was able to straighten it out and looks good. I send them an email letting them know what happened. Hopefully this one will hold up. Part # DC2702S Fernando
Does anyone know if the Stage 2 decal was ever made or sold by Buick? I seem to remember hearing that Buick did make the Stage 2 decal at one time.
