I just had the car aligned ('71 Skylark Custom Convertible, 350 auto) and mentioned to the shop that the steering will not return to center if you let go of the wheel. I got it back with the same problem. Suggestions? All four stock size matching tires and wheels, new quick ratio steering box from Hector, all front end parts in good condition.

I used to loosen the worm gear on my manual steering box to get it to return to center. Too tight will do that.

Give Hector a call or email.. as was stated above, sounds like too much sector shaft preload. He will tell you how to fix that, it's simple..
