TA STAGE 6. Who's ready to make some SERIOUS power?

Block, heads same thing, glad they are getting parts out. I love the products I get from TA. they are top notch when they finially do ship.

I'm sure when they roll they will make serious power and compliment the al blocks very well.

They are all parts that fall into the I have a dream category for me. They will be priced way beyond anything i will be able to afford. Been racing a buick motor now for 25 years. Finially was able to get al heads just a few years ago.

I think my next venture will be investing in getting my car trimmed downed and lightened up. I can't by any means afford to build a 1000hp motor, or a 900hp or 800hp

I would love to hear any update however little on these and all the other parts we have been teased with.......even if I can't ever own them

Rough crowd seriously, you show pictures and drop something like who is ready for serious power, and then do not have any updates for two years and you think we’re a rough crowd for not asking for info I think that’s a little rough!

Sending mine to JW. Theres a commitment from Molinar (spelling) to make the cranks and I've got one on order. Should be done around the first of the year. Bought n paid for the rest of the rotating assembly already. Will have it shipped here once the short block is done.

Profitable projects need to come before passion projects...

I struggle to think of more than a few Buick racers that would use a set of these.

This is a good point, but I would guess......that hopefully 1 or 2 steps have been taken in the direction of completion

Clip from my convo with JW about the build

I have been talking back and forth with Tom Molnar here, our new Billet cranks are going to be available early next year. Price will be within a couple hundred bucks of what TA is getting for that converted mopar forged crank.

Our cranks are 2.200 rod pins, fully counterweighted for internal balance, 4.400 Stroke (with 4.500 bore that builds a 560ci engine).

You game be the the inagural owner of one of these new cranks? If so, I will order the pistons and rods with those specs.

I spoke to Tom months ago about cranks he said he would need 10 orders up front maybe that changed, .I'm betting the actual delivery time wont be much different than Crower,..some 3.25main cranks would be nice

    Tom,
Jim was referring to the comment made by Ben and you to my question on how the heads were coming along

Exactly what I was thinking, buy a set unmachined and get the done, might not be any cheaper but quicker.

Raw casting is a lot of work.

Well that post was almost 2 years ago and TA has the 350 heads completed and for sale, not sure what's going on with these though?

And it would be WAY more expensive only having one set machined! I don't think you would want to pay that bill? Programming takes longer than machine time plus if they make a mistake they have to fix by welding or by having you buy another bare casting if its to big of a mistake to weld.

To make it worth while the shop would have to do many sets of heads to get the costs down to be affordable, the more sets that are machined the more the costs go down.

With today’s technology you can machine 1 or 5 sets for the same money once you have the tooling and set up. We are starting our second run of billet heads and our cast heads this winter. I would like to see what the numbers are with the biggest valves at 1” and 1.200”. Early talk was 450-600cfm.
