    I bought this Car Yesterday.
    4 wheel drive.
    The automatic Transmissio don`t work.
Working forward 1st maybe 2st, no moore working.
    No Reverse.
Black oil, and it was low on the dipstick. Testing in idle.
Wonder what is wrong with it? Thanks Goran

Sorry to say it is fried...clutches burnt up....hope you got it cheap. Good news is that you should be able to get a good one from a wrecking yard. Look for a truck involved in an accident rather than one worn out with high miles. LOOK AT THE FLUID before buying one.

Its very common for the 4l60e to fail. It might be hard to find a builder across the pond, but over here any trans builder can fix it.

I've got 195K on my 97 4L60E...3/4 of it towing. Changed the fluid a couple times. I guess I'm lucky....

I would guess the reason all the items were lose is someone was getting ready to fix or replace it.

Yes, he heard a big noise from the Transmision,
and took the Car to a Workshop. Goran

GM sells remanufactured transmissions. If you establish a wholesale account with a dealer, the price for a remanufactured trans with warranty can be compelling.
