I have run the B body tall spindle with Hotchkiss upper control arms for 25 years. That was my disk brake conversion back in the day. I used 85' Caprice 11" brakes. Handling is excellent. I also run a 79 Trans am 1 3/8" sway bar. I recently came across a set of 12" brake B body spindles and brakes for free so one of these days when I am caught up on projects I plan to swap in the 12" brakes with some 1LE rotors. The downside is the long steering arms slow the steering ratio so even with the quick ratio steering box I have it is pretty slow. We bought a 67' Skylark for my wife last year and it will need a front end rebuild. That car does have disk brakes already with some kind of aftermarket kit. I am thinking we will just go with sand blasting and painting the old control arm and then new bushings and ball joints. I think we will do 1/2" taller ball joints on it as well. I have been wondering if I should also grab some offset upper control arm shafts as well.
