Hi all! Trying to identify my TH350 from my 72 Skylark. I found what I believe to be a serial number on a boss on the passenger side of the bell housing listing: 13K590049. Anyone know what year this would be from?
Couple images of some casting numbers I found if that will help. Thank you in advance.

Also, this has been painted blue, what would factory color have been in 72, or was it unpainted? thanks

Question, would anything have needed to be done to adapt this to my buick 350 engine? Before I rebuild this Chevy TH350 to reinstall, is there anything I should be concerned about that the previous owner did not do to ensure long life for the motor and trans?

Yes, get a different case! BOP and Chevy bellhousings are different.

OK it seemed to be bolted up fine is it just shaped differently?

If you click on the link Devon provided in post #6, it shows you the difference.

If it bolted up fine, then maybe you have a Chevy engine! Kidding. Otherwise it's a no-go unless you have the rare dual bolt pattern case or use an adapter plate (which is a pain). If there's no adapter and you do have a Buick 350, the dual bolt pattern case is the likely conclusion. If so, build it & run it.

Yeah, no doubt a Buick motor( distributor in the front) thought same thing, and checked that first before I bought it, lol.
Attached pics of the trans. Seems to be the 2 bolt pattern you mention. Correct? How rare are these?

That's the dual pattern all right. Not sure how rare, Just don't remember seeing many back when I was working on this sort of stuff regularly. You're good to go.
