My 70 Electra has deep gears (2.93). I am keeping this rear under it until I blow it and swap it with a ford 9 inch. I'm wondering what y'all think of swapping the 400 for a 350 for a full roller 600hp 455. It will cost more to build and swap a 350 for the 400, but the gearing is more friendly for higher rpm, less weight, and less rotating mass is my train of thought.

600 hp, 4500 lbs and a 2.93 gear is a tough environment for a TH350... you could build one to hold together for a fair amount of money, but I'd guess you'd be back into it fairly often..Honestly I'd think the TH400 is a better bet, parasitic drag, gearing and all. We know GM did...
