Today the voltage regulator failed when I was picking up the kids from school... the sun looked “right” so I took some photos... Early model 1970 Skylark convertible (clear top, plastic top plate, pointed gauges) cloned into a GS 455. Gulfstream with black bench. 462, forged, TA SE Stage 1 aluminum heads, rollers, 92H cam, TH350, 3.31 posi. Dylan and I restored the front and rear seats, replaced the bumpers with rechromed ones, added the rear sway bar, grille stainless, and reworked some wiring issues. This weekend is top weatherstripping. Now that the nice weather is here, this car WILL be driven (and beat on) as much as possible, with the top DOWN. If you see us, please stop, wave, or flip us off!!! Lol.
All right!! George and Dylan! Nice work have a great Summer and plenty of car cruises and ice cream runs!
I saw "beater" in the title and expected something completely different. That is a sharp ride! Glad you're driving/using it.
I have to adjust the rockers/ valve lash, and g through the engine as it's running like a dog. She pulls hard on the highway when I floor it at 60... However... 1974 455 0.030 over, crank was turned, aligned honed, TRW forged pistons, cam is a TA 288-94H installed 4 degrees advanced (don't know why). TA Stage 1 SE's, straight out of the box, TA 1.6 roller rockers, stock rods, TA 1 7/8 headers, Edelbrock Performer 455, I have a rebuilt 1970 455 7040240 carb, an Edelbrock 750 (on it now), and an Edelbrock 800 CFM carb. Distributor is a old Poston "Street/Strip" HEI unit. Trans is a TH350, that is "built".. However, it doesn't feel like it. Also states there's a significant stall convertor.. Again, can't feel it. Rear is a 12 bolt posi, 3.31 gears. Need to sort it out to some degree...
