Very cool topic. I was digging though some parts yesterday and found my mirror parts box. All of my cars have been 70-72 Skylark GS and 70-72 Cutlass/442,but I noticed my casting numbers don’t match the list.
Brian, what is the casting number on the gold base? The red assembly appears to be a 73+ casting. Possibly replaced or added at dealer post 72? The green one looks correct for 70-72 A-body.
Very hard to make out the numbers on the gold base. I removed that from a 72 442. The green bullet came from 71 or 72 Buick. As for the red one,I don’t remember what car I got that from. I’ve had it at least 20 years and I have had over 50 of these cars. The size of the bullet is the same as the green one. I do remember the later ones being just a hair larger.
