WoW! ! :eek2: How many cars didn't make it to the staging lanes due to break downs or DQ's??? At least 15 total?!? Very sad to see this happen to our fellow racers for the breakdowns. Hope that all issues are resolved and you'll be back next year !! I thought the Saturday morning grid was very thin. Also, what was with the racers dropping out after 2 rounds?? I thought we were to run ALL THREE ROUNDS regardless if you lost your 2-out-of-3 shoot outs?? Other than the cold, everybody seemed to post record numbers on Friday!! Glad to see a lot of our friends again! I almost was matched up against Ted Harbit and the Red Tomato. Lucky for Ted (LOL), Darrell Detweiler posted a time in-between so I was matched with Darrell's 4-4-2. We ended up running a best 2-out-of-3 Red Light Festival! Best sight of the day was Paul Petcou's left side muffler blowing out its fiberglas packing and looking like it was shooting silly string down the track!
At a little past 1/2 track, one of his mufflers blew out the fiberglass from the muffler inerts. It was almost continuous with a slight delay then it happened again at about 3/4 track. Looked like one of those poppers you pull the string out of on new years eve. Rich C.
Dennis Jensen told me Saturday morning that ten cars had dropped out and couldn't answer the call to the post. Another was DQ'd on technical grounds. That does seem like a few more than normal, Frank. At the risk of your losing half your friends, your wife  was spotted among the Studebaker fans in the stands: :grin:BP
Paul said if his car had to see one more Chevy, it was going to cough up a hair ball.........................
Just because I fire up the car for the first time on Sunday night, it decides that it needs some more love. Guess new mufflers were not enough! Dr. Stefina will make it all better soon!!! Rebuild on the motor and the trans was 2001. Will be ready for Martin next spring!
If I hadn't started feeling better Saturday morning I was about ready to make Rusty a Plymouth man! Was standing at the fence when Paul started handing out boa's like he was at Mardi Gras. Never seen that before.
Viewing directly down the track it looked like Silly-String; I've never seen that happen at any drag strip! There were 127 cars total but only 117 for the shoot-outs.
Frank my Brake Master cylinder started acting up Saturday morning That is my I put it in trailer after 2 rounds
