Sorry about your car, Tom. We'll get it put back together before Stanton.

Again, sorry, but the surprised look on your face was priceless.........

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

If it took dinner to get the removal, how many meals to get the engine back in and running?

I think Jody is the closest to finding out what it takes to coax Donny into Putting it IN...:Brow:

This just may be the first time I have the choice of either the black 66 or the blue 68 read. Usually it's neither...like Martin. Got the lower end straightened out on the Ramrod, and resurfaced the flywheel and pressure plate..surprisingly the clutch disc looked like new.

Probably bring the 66 since it's going to MCACN in November.

Taking the 66 to Norwalk this weekend for the Olds powered Nats (Dick Miler meet) Will be in the car show and make a few runs down the track but not in competition. May enter King of the Hill for grins, but not much chance of winning anything as a lot of weasels put their near race cars there just to win a few $$$. As a result, few people in the car show enter it. Only other time I did this, I did win the K of the H on a double breakout. Pure luck. I hate bracket racing; my brakes aren't good enough to stand it on the bumper at the deep end, and after 2 hot laps, there are no brakes. LOL.. Manual drums...

Ran three passes at Norwalk, breaking up badly in each gear, acted like fuel starvation. Suspect the pickup sock in the tank.

Then disaster struck on the way home. Lost two tires on the trailer and had to unload the car to drive home from Toledo and leave the truck and trailer at a tire store that was closed. All fine for the first hour, then out of nowhere clouds of steam everywhere and the temp gauge spun way past the max setting. Temp had been at 180 and oil at 45 psi all the way up 75 and 275 until I got off at Northville to take back roads. Couldn't open the hood for 10 minutes, so called AAA and brought it home on a rollback.

Nothing obvious the next day except the radiator cap was all bent up and 14 quarts of water low. Looks like it ran dry and cooked it as it now is missing badly and a loud knocking sound. Oil was clean, not seized. Going to pull plugs and valve covers and run a compression test.

This car is possessed. Will be running the Ramrod at Stanton. Just got it back with all the leaks fixed.

So Donny, what's your favorite dinner? Danielle is a gourmet cook.........
