Thought I was 86'd from this place for awhile today.

Got into work today and went to check the board for my morning fix along with my coffee, and couldn't log on. :shock:
Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!
All the site would give me was the first time visiter, you must register first page.
No place to log on with my user name and password.

I emailed Mike 'n' Jim.
Mike was kind enough to reply, but thought I was a new user that hadn't registered yet.
"The user name 'Dale' is already taken" he said.

But, but... I AM Dale! :rant: :grin:

Pretty funny how addictive this place is.
I'm home now, and all is well.

I'll see what happens Monday.

 

I occasionally have to also.
But this time, I had nowhere to log on.

Me too. Maybe they had a major reboot at their server site.

 

Same here. Usually instead of logging on i'd go through the email v8 sends me but it didnt work yesterday or today. So when I logged on and it brought me back the the home page not logged on, I clicked back (it said error) I refreshed it and was on.

 

Yesterday morning at 9 AM, (which is in the middle of the night for N-America) I couldn't get on the board at all, due to maintenance.

After 1 1/2 hour the board was up and running again, but I had to log in with my password. Now all is fine again :TU:

 

Same thing happened to me. Strange - I thought the auto-login was using cookies. Probably just a change in how they are handled.

I did find it odd that many pages loaded with the Quick Reply box activated (didn't have to hit the link).

 

Me too.........I noticed immediately when I tried to click on "new posts" and all I could find was "today's posts" until I logged in. ou:

 

Allow me to introduce myself, the name is bonehead.

I get into work this AM and pull up the site to be greeted by the same welcome message.
Turns out, I had the toolbar / window that has the fields to log into the site collapsed. Duh.

Never mind.

 

Im good here, actually except for the few problems the board has had in the past, I have never had a issue logging in. Just hit the remember me deal, and it just keeps on keeping on, out here in the sticks. Just think, instead of being addicted to the board here, we could be addicted to something else like .................. ummmmmm, better leave that one to the imagination.

 

I have that problem also. I think its the aol browser. Because when I login onto this site with Firefox its fine.

 

I have to log on each time I go into the V-8 board.

What happened? Does anyone know? It was fine last week. What changed?
