    Thoughts From Nick

Well, If it is done semiannually The second event would not be as detailed. IE BBQ, SHIRTS, Sponsors so on. So that is one reason for having an event once a year. As far as having another event so us texas guys can get together I am for it. I just don't think we can go to the level of this with all the sponsorship.... Here is another thought call it a picnic.... Go to the track and have people bring a dish IE (finger foods). So we can have a potluck deal at the track. Keeping the cost low for everyone. I really like the thought of a semiannual gathering... Let me hear your thoughts nick and others.

Of course, I'm all for it! No sponsorship needed. Bring some food, something to share if your wife (or you) is a good cook. I guess the only thing that needs to be "official" is contacting the track and having them open up for us early.

same kinda deal nick as the X bash just no sponsors.... Money... or Tee shirts... Money also could come from Track payout from Street event.... If you win....

As much as I enjoyed attending the event last year, I won't be able to attend next week. :ball: With last years event being held close to the Las Vegas race, attending both races was somewhat realistic. Besides that, the Opel is apart and the Riviera is far from being done. So....maybe in 2005. Good luck.

John, sorry to give you any stick, but as one of the most notable gurus of Buick you must have a running car in your back pocket at all times?

Maybe not the fastest in the country, but running nevertheless. LOL

Do you need a loaner? There may be a few cars out there with your name on the gas pedal.

Hell yes on the Bi-annual. Gives everyone a better chance to make to at least one of the events if they havent finished winter upgrades by april. lol

Like the potluck / picnic / informal concept for the 2nd one. Maybe we can bait more Texas clubs into bringing their rides down and make this a local version of the Noble GM Vs Ford thing.

    Buick vs Everyone? :)

I'll throw in an idea here---Buick and Olds event---I know quite a few Olds nuts that should be able to get up to this event. Not a massive number but enough to maybe get a good mix of Abodies up there but not so many that the potluck gets to be a hassle.

I vote for a potluck deal for us "orphan" A-body owners--you know---the two cars besides Chevy and Pontiac. Patton

    BO nationals....:error:

Ok ok my Buick blood starting flowing. Sorry I'll calm down now.

My thoughts If you are going to have a second event call it something else besides the Brand X Bash, this should be an annual event.

Since the second one can't be what is all involved in the first one, you don't want people confusing the two. Just my opinion.

And if I can speak for the LSPBC we have alot on out plate through out the season with our Car Shows, our Regular Race Series, cruises etc. It would be hard to get everyone back again the same year and With Noble in the Fall, you don't want to have to compete with this event.

I believe a small turnout at the second event would hurt the first one but again just my opinion.

I'm always up for getting the Buick folks together but I just think bi-annual is over doing it.

Thanks for your take on the Idea and you have some very valid points. Maybe we will just leave it to one event as there is noble which would be a nice fall event and get us incoporated better with the OK group. Maybe they could venture down our way to kick of the season for the Brand X Bash in the future...

I'll have a nice cold beer or other beverage waiting for any of you Texas guys that make it to NOBLE this year. Last year was a blast even with my motor doing its grenade imitation.

Sorry I did not pay enough attention for this year, but allready have it in the plans for 05. I am waiting on my stage 2 right now anyway.Shooting to have it done for the Kearney NE. event in July.

There is also a Pontiac race at Heartland Park Raceway here in Topeka at the end of July that all buicks are welcome. For more info on that ask Racebuicks on the board for more details.
