    Tom, Excellent secret the MAAP Gas for loosening rusted fasteners! Used it on some exhaust manifolds. Who would have thought it would work SOO WELL.

    Yes, used the wax from a birthday cake candle also. Mind you, they were still tight! ;)

    What's the secret? I must have missed it... (My '74 Firebird has some rusty bolts that will eventually need to be removed).

    Heat and a penetrate of your choice. It's not much of a secret..

    Maap gas and wax. 2 1/2 minutes and then the wax to wick into the threads. Never thought I would get them out. Penetrant didnt help much imo.

    Yes heat works wonders in getting rusted bolts unstuck. A word of caution to those of you just learning this. Be aware of what is close to what you are heating up. Any non-metal material will get fried.
