I have a 1970 455 I am putting together. I plan on using the stock style compressor.

I have the aluminum alternator-A/C bracket for my engine, but the top bracket for the A/C is from a 1972 350 and will hit my valve cover.

Is there another bracket for a 1970 engine? If so, what is the part number?

    Thanks, Scott

Yes. Scott the 70 is specific. May fit 69 as well. I think is same for a 350 in 70 as well. 71-72 will not work. Do you have a 70 assembly manual? PArt number is in there. It is not stamped on this part. Find someone stripping a 70 car.

I did have a 70 upper around somewhere if interested. Not 100% sure if I still have but will check if you want it. it came off a 70 455 I stripped

Dave, I am interested in the 70 model top A/C bracket. Let me know if you still have it and how much. Shipping will be to 77476 zip.

    Thanks, Scott

Ok Scott, I will have to look around. May take until the weekend to look. Maybe $30 shipped if OK. Would need blasting as well.

Scott, went though all my stuff today. All I could find was another 71 style. no idea where it went. One way to identify 70 style is it does not have ground screw hole in it. Another option is find all 71-72 style pulleys and brackets.

I have several upper brackets that I blasted and powder coated semi gloss black when batch restoring parts for my car. If interested, reply here or send me a PM. I can provide pics if you are seriously interested. $25 plus shipping.

Maybe this a good place to ask...
What bracket would be used for a rotary compressor on a 1969 455?

I heard that it is almost easier to junk the top mount and switch to a low mount from a regal???????

It would certainly look better, but I also heard that it is on the drivers side and kinda crammed in there with the p/s pump.

Obviously this is non-resto, but I have a resto car too.
