The "must have" braces are to connect the upper-front trailing arm bolt to the lower-front trailing arm bolt.
The upper arms pull so hard on the crossmember, they can destroy it. These braces can help reduce that pull. UMI 4028 is for 68 and up. UMI 4029 is for 65-67 a-body.
    Don't leave home without'em.
The only braces I have used that attach to the rear shock, are the ones that allow lowering the back end of the rear trailing arms for traction improvement.
I removed them and got TA no-hop bars that raise the rear of the upper trailing arms.

Those braces are the UMI version of the factory big black tie bar braces.

My factory braces are stamped steel and show signs of stretch. I'm replacing them with UMI braces just to be extra safe from disaster.

Gary, as of to date what rear shocks are you using ? Also are you using the UMI rear shock tower brace ? Thx John.

I now have Viking rear double adjustable shocks. Also UMI upper arms, lower arms and adjustable frame braces. ROTO BUSHINGS are great. Dont trust heim joints for highway driving. Roto joints are adjustable and greasable for many years of safe hard driving on highway and drag strip.

Thx Gary. What are these adjustable frame braces ? What's their function? Do you have a part number? Thank you.

They are simply f41 bars but adjustable to take up variations in frames...where the original stamped bars were elongated on one end...

Why are heim joints a bad idea for highway driving?

When highway driving, your heim joints are being bounced and bumped thousand of times. The tight heim joint clearance holds a very thin film of grease. If trailered and braced down tight against blocks, your expensive heim joints and adjustable racing shocks will virtually not move at all.
If you break a heimjoint, we may never see you or your car again.
