I'm building a traditional custom 49 Buick Sedanette. It will be powered by this 455 engine. I wanted it to have an "old school" hot rod look but was having a hard time locating valve covers that fit that profile. Thumper sold me a pair of old Edelbrocks he had and I had them repaired and powder coated. Also had a bunch of other pieces powder coated, including the timing cover, water neck, pulleys, brackets, etc.

Dave Tumas helped me assemble the long block a couple of weeks ago and I have been adding exterior pieces. The carb in this picture will be replaced by a Sniper EFI throttle body. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the way this is turning out.

That is a possibility. Right now, I have an entire car to assemble....or bigger fish to fry. :D

That sure will look sweet on the '49. I wish there were more old rods in here to look at.

Beautiful. Can't say I've seen a 455 done in that style (which I'm quite fond of) and it looks fantastic.

I'm liking this. I think my powder coated can replicate this in powder. I will be checking it out.
